Full Description:
Are you ready to embark on an awesome weekend getaway? Your trip begins with an early 7:30AM Saturday morning meet up at the pick up location. Our van is packed, stocked and ready for full 2 days of adventure. We meet at a designated location, perform a meet-and-greet with the group, have a few donuts with coffee, and depart for Big Bear. On the way up, we’ll enjoy good music and laughter, and we might pick up a few more guests. We’ll also make a pit stop for restroom and more snacks or drinks.
We arrive at the campsite around 10:30AM . It’s located 30 minutes outside Big Bear Lake, among huge 60-100ft tall pine trees. It’s a private, 29-acre campground reserved just for us. Beautiful, all secluded site! We proceed to have a quick safety orientation and get familiar with the site. The next 30 minutes will be the most work you’ll do all day! It’s time to set-up the tents… If you are a couple, you’ll receive our couples’ package which includes larger 6-person tent, a nice, comfortable blow up mattress and a tandem sleeping bag. If you are a single, you will receive a 4-person tent. All our kits include other camping essentials. We’ll show you how to pick a tent site, how to set-up your tent and sleeping bags. No experience necessary!
Once you’re done setting up your night time bedding, you’ll be free to roam around the campsite, engage with other guests, or hide away on top of many peaks, nooks and crannies scattered throughout the site. All we ask is that you are back around noon for a tasty lunch prepared by your guides. Our lunches include variety of foods, sides, desserts and snacks. We also serve variety of drinks – water, Gatorades (it get’s hot up in the mountains), sodas, juices… If you’d like something stronger, you will have to bring it with you. There is a community cooler where you can store your own drinks.
After lunch is where the action begins. You will be handed a map of the campsite, and will be able to participate in our “Treasure Trek”, a fun and creative way to explore the campsite. Everyone (or every couple) will be handed a list of activities/plants/or other unique elements around the campsite that they’ll have to find, act out, take a photo, or find something “out of the ordinary”. The winner will get bragging rights for the rest of the day! Meanwhile, your hosts will be hosting a “Know your habitat” class, where we’ll teach you about the local flora and fauna. We’ll go over the various plants and animals that live within the campsite, and explain to you good campsite etiquette for when you’re ready to take things into your own hands, how to pick and chose camping equipment, we can tell you anything you’d like to know about outdoors, camping and related. This is also your time to do more exploring, and have fun playing various campsite games such as horseshoes, cornhole, Jenga, UNO, dominoes and more…
Once the sun starts to set, we’ll set up a campsite fire that everyone will gather around with your provided camping gear. We can relax, listen to the fire, get warm and cozy, have a nice, cold beverage after full day of exploration. Your guides will also serve dinner, where every guest will be able to eat to their heart content. We cook variety of meals, but we make sure there is enough for everyone, and we are accommodating variety of different tastes.
When the sun is fully gone, everyone can enjoy stargazing and having great time connecting with other travelers, discuss the day, have a drink and enjoy a freshly made smores. Sitting around a campfire is like entering a realm where time slows down, and stories come alive in the dancing flames. It's a magical experience where the crackling of the fire weaves a soothing melody, casting flickering shadows that playfully dance upon the faces of friends and family gathered close. The warmth of the fire creates a cozy haven against the cool night air, while the scent of wood smoke mingles with laughter and whispered tales, creating an atmosphere steeped in camaraderie and shared memories. Around the campfire, worries seem to melt away as bonds strengthen, and a sense of connection to nature and each other deepens under the starlit sky.
And just like that, day 1 comes to an end.
As you wake up the next day, you can hear the birds chirping, the leaves rustle in the wind, the cold breeze blow across your tent and smell of bacon being cooked fills up the site. Your guides are already at work, serving fresh, hot coffee and tea, breakfast pancakes and more. This marks the beginning of Day 2. After breakfast, we begin to wrap up our stay at the campsite. We’ll have a couple hours to pack everything, clean up, and get ready for more!
We leave the campsite around 10:45am and arrive at our kayaking location shortly after. Once there, everyone will be able to participate in kayaking on the Big Bear Lake. For couples, we’ll have double kayaks, and for single riders we’ll have single kayaks. Everyone participating will go through a quick orientation, fitting of a safety vest, and set off on their own kayaking trip! You’ll kayak around the shore of Big Bear Lake, exploring what nature has to offer. Due to high rains over the past winter, the lake is exceptionally full, and boasts with activity. This fun experience lasts about 2 hours.
Once everyone had a wave-tastic time on the lake, we’ll gather round for lunch at a local restaurant. We’ll cover your food and non-alcoholic drink, but you’ll have to get something stronger on your own. Everyone will have until 4:30PM to explore local shops, museums and other sites. Your guides can share tips for where to go and what to see.
Right around 4:30PM, we’ll start to wind down, and making our way back to the starting point. It will take us around 2.5 – 3 hours to get back. With hearts full and spirits high, enjoy a scenic drive back to the meeting point, cherishing the bonds and adventures made at Big Bear. This will be a perfect time to relax, listen to good music, recap the weekend and connect with others. Our trip ends right around 7:30PM on a Sunday evening.
